Stanley A. Plotkin, M.D., is the developer of the rubella vaccine, the only one in use in the United States and throughout most of the world. Dr. Plotkin is considered the “Founding Father” of the Pediatric Infectious Diseases Society in the U.S. and has edited several books, including Vaccines, now the standard textbook in the field.
